Leonilo Calzada Canson, commonly known as “ONEL,” came into existence on September 12, 1962, in Cebu City. His formative years unfolded in Danao City, his hometown. Onel started his educational journey at Bibiana Elementary School from 1968 to 1974, marking the foundation of his academic pursuits. The culmination of his high school years transpired at Sto. Tomas College-Danao City in 1979. He pursued Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Computer Science at University of San Jose Recolitos and graduated in the year 1988.

After finishing his studies, he had his first job in Cebu Minebea Mitsumi as a Purchasing Clerk from 1989-2001. His strong desire to serve the people, his unconditional love and commitment to help the City of Danao to become progressive, sustainable, and competent towards other Cities for all the “DANAWANONS”, he entered the world of politics and was elected as City Councilor in 2001 up to present, since then his continuous outstanding performance and support for the City of Danao and its people leads him to have received countless certificates and awards.

Onel acts as the pillar of support and strength for his family. His wife and his children gives him inspiration to pursue his compassion towards serving the people and keeps his feet on the ground despite his physical limitations. His presence is vital for maintaining the balance and peace of his family.
