JOSE CALVIN B. TUADLES

     JOSE CALVIN B. TUADLES was born on 21st of April 1965, in Danao City,Cebu to parents Anastacio C. Tuadles and Emeteria E. Batoon. Born in a large family with six (6) brothers and five (5) sisters, Calvin was tenth child in the family. Coming from a large family, he played a lot with his siblings and always found a way to make every day life fun and exciting.

In 1980, he enrolled at the Southwestern University during his high school years and joined the varsity team from 1980-1984. Calvin took up Bachelor of Science in Commerce at the Southwestern University in 1984 and continued to play for the university varsity team.

Calvin played long hours of basketball while in high school. His perseverance and hard work paid off when was drafted in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in 1989. As a rookie. he played for Formula Shell together with then PBA rookies Arnie Tuadies, Benjie Paras, Ronnie Magsanoc, and Romy dela Rosa. He played in the professional basketball scene until 1993, In 1999 to 2001, he played in the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) for SOCSARGEN MARLINS.

In a stunning political debut in 2013, Tuadles won as the Barangay Chairman in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, Cebu. This was his first step into his political career. Calvin was Barangay Captain for six years dedicating his time and work in developing grassroots programs for sports especially basketball. He focused on providing anti-drug programs, and livelihood projects for his constituents.

 In 2018, he filed candidacy under the political party of the Duranos and ran for City Councilor. In 2019, he was elected as member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. During this time, he was the Chairman of Committee on Planning, Housing, Land Utilization and Community Development, and Committee on Anti- Drugs.

In 2022, he again won as City Councilor and was again Chairman of the Committee on Planning, Housing. Land Utilization and Community Development, Committee on Anti-Drugs, Committee on Sports Development, And On Games and Amusements.

Through his experience as a professional basketball player, Calvin was able to utilize sportsmanship, patience, discipline, and dedication in his political career. In fact in 2021, he was awarded by the Sangguniang Panlungsod the Best Attendance Award in recognition for his exceptional attendance.
