Public Communication, Urges Continuity Beyond Current Administration

June 17, 2025 (Danao City)- The City Government of Danao, under the leadership of Mayor Mix Durano and through the Public Information Office (PIO), held a pivotal Inter-Office Alignment and Briefing aimed at fortifying the city’s public information network and ensuring sustained good governance through strategic communication.

Attended by Heads of Offices and Public Information Associates (PIAs) from various departments, the alignment session emphasized the importance of consistent, transparent, and people-centered communication in delivering effective public service.

Mayor Mix Durano strongly encouraged all departments to develop and disseminate information that not only informs, but also improves the lives of the people of Danao.

“When we equip our citizens with timely, relevant, and truthful information, we empower them to participate in governance, access services, and make informed decisions,” Mayor Durano stated.

“This commitment to accessible information must not end with this administration, it must continue and evolve for the benefit of future generations of Danawanons,” he added.

The event reinforced the city’s unified approach to public communication, highlighting how inter-office coordination can maximize the reach and impact of government programs and services.

By aligning messaging strategies, the City Government ensures that every department contributes to a coherent and trusted flow of information to the community.

“This is more than just improving how we communicate. It’s about building public trust and enabling meaningful civic engagement,” said City Information Officer Michelle Mondigo.

“Good governance is sustained when access to accurate and timely information becomes a priority, regardless of who is in office” Mondigo emphasized.

As Danao City looks ahead, this initiative underscores the need for institutional continuity in promoting transparency and good governance.

The Public Information Office and city leadership call on future administrations to uphold and expand this commitment, ensuring that information remains a cornerstone of public service and democratic accountability.

The city information network of PIAs was first established in 2015 under the wing of the PIO.
