in 2025 Best Practice in Health Care Promotion
Danao City, Cebu — Danao City is recognized as one of the Top 5 Best Practice Awardees in Health Care Promotion 2025, for its Dayung Community Care Mobile Clinic, during the 2025 Regional Health Promotion Summit organized by the Department of Health – Central Visayas.
Held earlier this month, the summit highlights exemplary health programs from across the region that embody innovation, accessibility, and sustainability in the delivery of health services. Danao City’s Dayung Community Care Mobile Clinic earns this recognition alongside initiatives from Cebu City, Mandaue City, Baclayon and Sikatuna in Bohol.
The Dayung Mobile Clinic is a flagship program of the Danao City Government under the Durano Administration, implemented through the City Health Services Office and the Barangay Affairs Office. Designed to deliver primary care, consultations, and preventive services directly to communities, the mobile clinic serves especially those in far-flung barangays — reducing barriers to access and ensuring no one is left behind.
“This is more than just a program,” shares outgoing Mayor Mix Durano. “This is a testament to our collective commitment to bring quality, inclusive, and proactive health services closer to every Danawanon, especially in remote barangays. This award is not the end of our journey, but a strong push forward.”
He adds, “The groundwork has been laid, and with continuity and dedication, I am confident that these best practices will only grow stronger. Padayon ta sa pagserbisyo, kay ang katawhan ang tinud-anay’ng prioridad.” The award affirms the City Government’s efforts in building a livable and healthy Danao, aligned with its principles of inclusive governance. As the city continues to expand its health programs, this milestone underscores its commitment to improving the quality of life for all Danawanons.
