June 13, 2025- Danao City once again takes the lead in sports tourism as it officially announces
the Danao City Grind Fest 2.0, a 2-Person Team Adventure Sports Tourism Bike Race happening
on September 6, 2025.

In a press conference held earlier today, Danao City Sports Development Officer Vincent Paolo
Sybico, City Sports Commission Chair Oscar Rodriguez Jr.,
and organizing committee
member Red Durano
present the major highlights of this year’s event.

Now on its second year, the Danao City Grind Fest 2.0 offers a tougher challenge and broader
participation with four race categories: 120KM Open, Elite, and by Age Categories; 80KM E
MTB/Gravel; 70KM Adventure Ride by Age Categories
; and the newly introduced 30KM Fun
Ride.

The 30KM distance is intended for non-elite and recreational riders and will be subject to a pre
screening process, while the longest distance is upgraded from last year’s 100KM to 120KM,
raising the level of difficulty for elite and endurance riders.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and are required to register as a 2-person team, with no
solo entries allowed.

Registration fees per team are set at ₱4,000 for 120KM, ₱3,000 for 80KM and 70KM, and ₱2,000
for the 30KM category. Each registered team receives a race kit inclusive of an event jersey,
finisher medal, timing chip, aid station support
, and an after-party meal.

Cash prizes up to P50,000 and trophies await the top-performing teams in each category.
Additional prizes will be awarded in other divisions.

To support participating teams, Danao City is also offering free lodging at the Danao City
Training Facility
, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Unlike last year’s edition which primarily featured Filipino participants, this year’s Grind Fest
draws international attention, with teams from Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia expressing intent
to compete. The increasing participation of foreign riders reflects the growing global interest in
Danao’s adventure sports scene.

From a locally focused race in its debut year, Grind Fest now evolves into a platform that
strengthens Danao City’s stronghold of sports tourism and development, solidifying its title as
the Biking Capital of Cebu and a key destination for both competitive and recreational cycling
in the Philippines.
