THOMAS MARK H. DURANO, also known as “MIX” is the third son among the seven siblings of Hon. Ramon D. Durano III and Mrs. Elizabeth Hotchkiss Durano. He is married to Mrs. Charmaine Castro Durano and a loving father to his daughter, Yzabella Beatriz, and son, Thomas Christon.
He started his educational journey at Sacred Heart School for boys (elementary). At secondary, he studied in St. Laurence Academy – Sta Clara, California, USA. He graduated a Liberal Arts Degree in West Valley College – Saratoga, California, USA.
At De La Salle University – College of St. Benilde – Manila, he took up his graduate studies of Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
In 1995, he served as the General Manager of Radson’s Incorporated, a private industrial company. He became the Punong Barangay of Barangay Guinsay in 1997 to 1998 and became a Sangguniang Panlungsod Member from 1999 to 2007. After his term, he was appointed as the City Administrator of LGU Danao City from 2008 to 2010. He also became the Secretary to the Mayor on that same year and extended his service as Public Information Officer in 2013.
With his love for Danao City, he pursued Public Service and won as City Councilor from 2015 to 2016. A big step was entrusted to him by the mandate of the people when he became the City Vice Mayor from 2016 up to present.
He successfully earned his Master’s in Public Administration at Philippine Christian University. He strives to upgrade himself believing that knowledge and industry are the key to reach his goals. To equip him with much needed principles and theories essential in his public service practice and serve his constituents best, he is now pursuing on earning a Doctorate Degree.
With his good track record, programs, vision for Danao City, he is more driven in making a service-oriented government in the coming years.
Leading the solid council, he takes Danao into a new level.
Up until the last National and Local Election, held this May 2022, he was victorious in his quest and was recently proclaimed as the City Mayor of Danao.
