July 28, 2025 – In a continued effort to enhance disaster preparedness and public safety, the City Government of Danao proudly announces the upcoming deployment of a Mass Transport Vehicle under the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

Spearheaded by Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III and Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, this new initiative demonstrates the city’s commitment to responsive governance and proactive disaster management. The 50-seater bus, designed specifically for mass transport needs during emergencies, will serve a crucial role in ensuring swift and efficient mobility when the city is faced with large-scale events.

According to CDRRMO Officer Roland “Jikjik” Reyes, the vehicle will be utilized in a wide range of situations–  including emergency evacuations, transport of stranded individuals, deployment during strikes or disasters, and community outreach or training programs that require coordinated movement.

As part of the vehicle’s initial rollout, Mayor Durano personally conducted a test drive, accompanied by Vice Mayor Ivy Durano and several City Councilors. The trip included visits to various local government offices, symbolizing the integration of this asset into the broader disaster preparedness framework of the city.

“This vehicle reflects our firm resolve to stay ready and responsive at all times. In every situation that calls for urgent action, Danao City will remain prepared and willing to help,” Mayor Durano affirmed.

The Danao City Government believes that this new addition to its emergency fleet will significantly contribute to safeguarding the well-being of its citizens– affirming the city’s commitment to inclusive public service, disaster readiness, and good governance.
