The KYG Program 2024 is an initiative and a civic awareness effort of the City Government of Danao to help residents, especially the youth, understand the law, structure and functions of the local government.
This is an annual program under the Comprehensive Code for the Youth of Danao City (City Ordinance No. 2023-170-030), also in observance of the National Children’s Month celebration.
More specifically, the program aims to raise awareness on Government Structure and Administrative Divisions, City Officials and Department Head Responsibilities and Protocols, Citizen Programs and Services, Participation Opportunities, and Transparency and Accountability.
“Everything that comes and goes out of every department follows protocol and processes. We don’t do shortcuts. There are pre-requisites. Patients and delegence will be tested. At the end of the day it taught us the accountabilty we sworn to the people,” Mayor MIX Durano quoted.
Meanwhile, Hon. Ivy Durano, author of the Comprehensive Code for the Youth of Danao City, encourages Youth Leader Counterparts to approach this experience with enthusiasm, curriosity, and a sense of responsibility.
“As Leadership is not merely about authority, but about service, vision, and the ability to inspire others towards a common goal,” Hon. IVY emphasized to the Youth counterparts.
This afternoon, the City Youth Officials will be installed to the assigned office in the City Hall.
In the coming days, they will join the Sangguniang Panlungsod Regular Session and a Life Skills Training.
The KYG Program 2024 will run until November 22, 2024.
