Danao City warmly receives the delegation from the Province of Ilocos Norte,
led by Vice Governor Hon. Cecilia Araneta Marcos. City officials, including Mayor Thomas Mark
‘Mix’ Durano and Vice Mayor Ramon ‘Nito’ Durano III, personally welcome the distinguished
guests.
Accompanying Vice Governor Marcos are the esteemed Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members of
the said province. Though unable to join in person, Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Manotoc’s
support resonates throughout the gathering.
Discussions during the visit revolve around benchmarking initiatives, laying the groundwork for
future partnerships and exploring avenues for mutual growth. Both parties seize the opportunity to
explore synergies in investment and tourism, highlighting the potential for mutual growth and
development.
It also includes a tour to one of Danao City’s key economic players, MinebeaMitsumi, providing
a firsthand look at the city’s industrial landscape, opening avenues for potential collaborations and
investments.
Mayor Mix Durano expresses his optimism about the visit, stating, “There is a special bond, an
affinity between the Danawanons and the Ilocanos, a bond that defied geography, a bond built on
a common vision for the country and for the people. A vision shared by two young legislators, my
grandfather, the late Ramon Mano Amon Durano and the late president, Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
This day marks a testament to their undying commitment for their motherland, for their fellow
Filipinos. Truly, a friendship beyond politics.
May this short visit bloom into more fruitful and meaningful shared endeavors in the future. We
hope to return the same favor by paying your province a visit this coming March… Vice governor
Marcos, provincial board members, thank you for visiting our city, thank you for believing in our
brand of leadership.”
The visit holds significance as it marks the beginning of a promising partnership between the
Province of Ilocos Norte and the City of Danao. The collaboration signifies a step towards regional
synergy, with an eye on economic development and enhanced tourism experiences. Both parties
are optimistic about the prospects that will unfold as they work together to create a more
prosperous future, HERE AND NOW.
