DANAO CITY’S “KATROPA” MOVEMENT: IMPROVING AND CHANGING LIVES SINCE 2018.
One of the flagship programs of the City Government of Danao under the leadership of Mayor Nito Durano and Vice Mayor Mix Durano is the KATROPA Movement (Kalalakin-an Tiunay sa Responsibilidad ug Obligasyon sa Pamilya- Movement).
This program aims to improve Danawanon families by providing Livelihood Programs and education to the heads or “breadwinners” of the families. Basically, members were given a seed capital and were taught how to be “financially sufficient”.
Danao City was recently recognized by the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM7) for actively implementing this program. At present, the city’s KATROPA Movement has 24 fully-organized barangays.
