DANAO CITY CALLS FOR CITIZENS’ ACCOUNTABILITY, COLLABORATION AND ACTION TO SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT
Danao City Government, Barangay Taytay Officials and Residents gathered for a coastal cleanup earlier this morning on the coastal shores of Barangay Taytay.
This was after the LGU received a report from a concerned citizen pertaining to the said area coastal described to be full of trash.
Upon communication, the concern was addressed immediately.
The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) conducted a site inspection and the report was confirmed by the Barangay Chairman. Most of the wastes were identified Driftwoods (Gapnud) which flowed from the Tangon River down to the shores during severe rainfall.
Mayor Mix Durano encourages the community for a consistent cleanup drive. Looking at the waste flow, trashes from the mountains are received by the coastal community- factor that feeds flood, overflowing rivers and clogged drainages/water ways.
The City Government, under the Durano Leadership, continues to call for accountabilityc collaboration and action as we are experiencing the effects of climate change.
🅝🅞🅦 is the time to get involved and prepare Danao City for the next generation; and it sharts HERE in our community working together as stewards of the planet – our only home.
