Last July 27, the new isolation facility of the city located at Barangay Dunggoan was officially blessed. For the meantime, the old Sugar Mill Building was used and transformed into a facility for 75 COVID-19 patients.

Aside from isolation, monitoring and recovery, the local government will provide the daily needs of the patients such as food, water, vitamins, bed space, comfort room, wifi connection, entertainment (common TV per floor) and security personnel.

This temporary isolation center was made possible through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that allows the Danao City Government to use the said property for free.

This initiative was personally pushed by Mayor Nito Durano in order for the city to have an isolation area while waiting for the government-owned isolation center to be finished. The mentioned government-owned facility is currently being constructed at Barangay Looc (near the golf course).

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), City Health Services Office (CHSO), City Engineering Office (CEO), Office of the City Mayor together with the members of the local Inter-Agency Task Force are currently working together to flatten the city’s COVID-19 cases. (PIO)
