The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has been the lead office that responds to the basic social welfare needs of the disadvantaged and vulnerable sectors, families and communities.
Community organizing, group work processes and individual and family case management have been CSWD’s approaches in reaching out to different sectors like women single parents, senior citizens, PWDs, other displaced and needy family heads, out of school youth and even repatriated OFWs.
From these mentioned service partners, they were categorically organized and assessed as to their levels of well-being, thus, surfaced six service partners.
The women’s group, already deemed as Civil Society Organization, were observed to have up-scaled their barangay livelihood projects.They have created their group programs and services for their members’ benefit; hence, becoming independent private organization but are still acknowledged by the government.
The other remaining sector groups are still on its social preparation processes and are starting to engage in their respective livelihood projects.
For year 2020, a total of 241 Sustainable Livelihood Programs (SLP) Beneficiaries where recorded with Php3,610,000 Total worth of assistance.
SLP offers opportunity for all to engage into livelihood projects on their level, experience and skill so as to augment family income.(CSWDO)
