September 30, 2026 (Danao City, Cebu)— Danao City shares the beauty of its culture and heritage with the world as 38 Miss Asia Pacific International 2026 candidates explore its historic landmarks through the City Walk Tour on September 30, ahead of their coronation on October 10, 2026, at Mactan Expo.
Organized by the City Tourism and Development Office, the Danao City Walk Tour introduces visitors to the city through its landmarks, architecture and local stories. Guided discussions bring attention to the history behind the structures, the significance of public spaces and the traditions that shape Danawanon identity. Each stop offers an opportunity to understand how the city’s past remains part of its everyday life.
The candidates actively ask questions and engage in discussions, discovering the compelling heritage behind Danao’s welcoming, lively and peaceful community.
Miss Cuba stands out as one of the most enthusiastic participants, actively engaging with the local guide and asking questions about Danao’s history and heritage throughout the walk tour. She expresses gratitude for the opportunity to visit the city and shares how much she enjoys the experience.
Reigning Miss Asia Pacific International Isabela Fernandez of Brazil also shares her enthusiasm for the Karansa Festival 2026 experience. She relates its joyful atmosphere to Mardi Gras celebrations back home, describing the happiness of people coming together in celebration. Her reflection highlights how festivities can connect people across cultures through a shared sense of community and joy.
Danao City Investment and Promotions Officer Red Durano welcomes the candidates, expressing that it is a privilege for Danao City to host guests from across the world and share the culture, heritage and hospitality of its people.
Beyond the walking experience, Danao offers a Sikad Tour, alongside attractions and activities that introduce visitors to its natural surroundings and community life. These include the Tawsan Mangrove Forest, the famous Five Mountain Peaks, green open spaces, parks and local food experiences, offering more ways to discover the city’s landscape, flavors and hospitality.
The visit reflects Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III’s Connectivity Agenda, with tourism and cultural exchange creating connections between Danao and communities across the globe. Vice Mayor Carmen Remedios “Ivy” Durano likewise continues efforts to preserve the city’s heritage, helping ensure that its stories reach future generations of Danawanons, people beyond the city and audiences outside the Philippines.
Danao also looks forward to the completion of Museo de Danao, envisioned as a home for its rich historical and cultural treasures and a space where residents and visitors can deepen their understanding of the city’s roots.
As the international candidates discover Danao, the city offers a lasting connection— an encounter with a community whose beauty lives in its people, its stories and the heritage it continues to protect.
