September 27, 2026 (Danao City Civic Center) — A local job fair in Danao City is bringing employment opportunities closer to jobseekers as eight participating companies offer a combined 1,569 job vacancies, with 120 applicants hired on the spot.
Organized by the Danao City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the employment activity draws 360 applicants, including 47 Danawanons and 73 jobseekers from neighboring municipalities, spanning communities from Liloan to San Remigio, as well as Balamban and the Camotes Islands.
The activity records a 33.3 percent hiring rate, with 120 applicants securing employment on the spot. This exceeds the 20 percent target for local job fairs, highlighting the strong participation of jobseekers and the availability of employment opportunities in the private sector.
DOLE Senior Labor and Employment Officer Flordeliza Navarro is present during the activity, which brings employers and jobseekers together in one venue and provides applicants with direct access to available positions.
Mayor Nito Durano highlighted that beyond filling vacancies, the job fair demonstrates the role of the Danao City Government in connecting residents and neighboring communities with employers actively seeking workers, strengthening the link between public employment services and private-sector opportunities.
Following the activity, Danao City PESO is preparing for another job fair in December, with plans to bring together more applicants and participating employers.
As Danao City, under the Durano Administration, continues to position itself as a gateway of opportunities, its employment initiatives underscore a practical form of connectivity—bringing people, employers, and opportunities closer together so that job openings can translate into actual livelihoods for families and communities.
