In a strategic move to solidify its position as the “Logistics Hub of Northern Cebu,” Danao City sends a high-level delegation to Lao Cai, Vietnam, for a comprehensive benchmarking mission aimed at international economic integration and sustainable governance.

The group was welcomed by the Lao Cai Economic Zones Authority in a symbolic welcome at the historic bridge connecting Vietnam and China. This location serves as a live classroom for the delegation to observe a world-class Border Gate System.

Lao Cai officials present the intricate workings of their border gate economic zones, which seamlessly integrate industrial parks with high-efficiency logistics service areas.

For Danao City, these insights are invaluable; as Northern Cebu’s primary logistics gateway, the city aims to learn from Lao Cai’s success in managing the large-scale movement of goods and services to spur local industrial growth.

The mission, organized under the leadership of Mayor Nito Durano and Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, underscores the administration’s aggressive push to transform Danao into a Gateway of Opportunities.

“We are not just looking at infrastructure; we are looking at a blueprint for the future of Danawanons,” Mayor Nito noted.

The research also focused on Ecological Protection (Balancing industrialization with the preservation of natural assets), and Community-Based Tourism (Empowering local barangays to lead sustainable tourism efforts that directly benefit residents).

The cooperation between Danao City and Lao Cai is expected to yield significant long-term benefits for the people of Danao. By adopting proven techniques in logistics management, the city can attract higher-value investments, leading to increased employment and modernized public services.
