February 3, 2026 — Danao City reinforces its role as a connected gateway of opportunities as it hosts Driving Sustainable Transport: Exploration for Danao City EV Charging Station Project at the Durano–Macapagal Boardwalk, opening a collaborative platform to explore sustainable transport infrastructure anchored on ecological stewardship and smart city development.
Led by the City Government of Danao, in partnership with CET Technologies Inc. and DELTA Electronics , the initiative reflects the city’s openness to ideas, innovations, and infrastructure solutions that support cleaner mobility, economic growth, and responsible urban expansion.
The activity underscores Danao’s intent to balance progress with environmental care as it advances toward a future-ready, connected city.
Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, in her welcome remarks, highlights that the exploration signals Danao City’s commitment to sustainable development, climate responsibility, and long-term infrastructure planning. “Initiative goes beyond transport, serving as a statement of direction that encourages green investments and prepares the community for the global shift toward electric vehicles through collaboration.”
Industry perspectives shared by Milo Tseng, Business Director and Partner Alliances of DELTA Electronics , and Jojo Ciano, General Manager of CET Technologies, underscore the importance of connectivity, standards-compliant systems, and integrated ecosystems in building scalable and future-ready EV infrastructure.
Both speakers emphasize that innovation in green mobility advances most effectively when local governments cultivate open, inclusive partnerships that align technological progress with public interest and environmental responsibility.
In his response message, Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III underscores that investing in EV infrastructure today positions Danao City for long-term economic growth, energy efficiency, and improved quality of life for its residents. He describes the initiative as a concrete step toward making Danao a true gateway of opportunities, noting that ecological protection must be embedded in policy and governance, not treated as a slogan.
The event also brings together partners and supporters from the private sector, including BYD (Build Your Dreams), a global electric vehicle manufacturer, as well as GCash and Converge, reflecting broad-based support for the city’s exploration of future-ready mobility and digital connectivity.
The activity concludes with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and switch-on, marking the pilot phase of EV charging exploration in Danao City. The initiative serves as a learning platform that may be expanded over time, reinforcing Danao City’s commitment to smart, sustainable, and connected urban development for northern Cebu and beyond.
