January 8, 2026 – Fastfood giant Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has officially opened its newest food commissary in Guinsay, Danao City— Pinnacle Quality Food Inc. Commissary— marking a significant investment that further strengthens the city’s role in regional food manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The Danao facility is the 12th commissary of the Jollibee Group nationwide and the 4th in the Visayas, designed to serve the growing demand across Visayas and Mindanao.

“This commissary underscores our confidence in Cebu, its people, its capability, and its strategic role in our long-term growth,” said Joseph Tanbuntiong, Jollibee Group CEO and Global Head. “From here, we will serve distribution centers supporting Jollibee Group stores across six provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao, and even in parts of Luzon.”

The project reflects JFC’s continued confidence in the city as a strategic location for expansion. JFC is one of Asia’s largest and the world’s fastest-growing restaurant companies, managing a global portfolio of 19 brands with over 10,000 stores and cafés in 33 countries.

The Danao Commissary is equipped with advanced automation technologies to strengthen manufacturing efficiency and ensure a reliable supply chain for key Jollibee Group brands serving the Visayas and Mindanao. According to Richard Perez, Danao Commissary Site Head, the facility was designed to support multiple brands from the outset.

“This site has been specifically designed from the ground up to cater to multiple brands within the Jollibee Group. It is not purely Jollibee single-brand— it caters to at least, at this day, six different brands of Jollibee: Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, Greenwich, Burger King, and another one coming down the pipeline,” Perez said.

The facility currently employs 451 workers, with 283 employees or 63 percent coming from Danao City, while 168 employees (37 percent) are from nearby localities, contributing to both local and regional employment.

Highlighting the broader economic impact of the investment, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Hon. Ma. Cristina Roque said the new commissary strengthens both national pride and local industries.

“Jollibee is more than just a brand; it is a representation of Filipino pride and the jobs that it provides to our people,” Roque said. “This commissary is a massive win for Danao and the entire Province of Cebu. Every new commissary Jollibee opens represents more jobs, more security, and more growth for our local industries.”

City officials said the investment aligns with the priorities of the Durano Administration, which place strong emphasis on livelihood generation, employment, economic growth, and urban vibrance as key drivers of development.

The project also supports the Mayor’s connectivity agenda, which promotes stronger linkages among government, business, labor, and communities to ensure inclusive and sustainable development across sectors.

Cebu People’s Governor Pamela Baricuatro underscored that Danao City’s readiness and leadership played a key role in attracting the investment.

“The decision to locate this facility in Danao City is no coincidence. Danao is not only thriving— it is more than ready… ready to lead, ready to grow, and ready to become one of Cebu’s next investment hubs,” Baricuatro said. “The increasing presence of businesses here reflects strong investment confidence in the city’s clean, honest, and forward-looking leadership. This is what meaningful development looks like: investments that are strategic,
inclusive, and people-centered.”

Beyond operations, JFC continues to advance its global sustainability agenda, Joy for Tomorrow, focusing on food safety, employee welfare, community support, environmental responsibility, and good governance in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

With the opening of the Danao Commissary, JFC expands its manufacturing network alongside existing facilities in Laguna, Bulacan, Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Muntinlupa, and Pasig, reinforcing its nationwide footprint.

The new commissary highlights Danao City’s growing appeal to major investments, governance and strategic role in connecting industries, communities, and opportunities to drive shared growth in the region.

“We hope to continue to make our city the abundant source of economic opportunities for the people of Danao and its neighboring towns in the 5th District of Cebu,” Danao City Mayor Hon. Ramon ‘Nito’ Durano III said.

“The city’s leadership— and most especially our people— know by heart the value of industries: how they transform our city and how they shape our lives. This is our competitive advantage. This is the difference in our leadership. This shall be our commitment to you, the private sector, as our partners in navigating a safe, secure, and sustainable future.” ///
