The City Government of Danao, through its Public Information Office (PIO), conducted a two-day capacity training aimed at strengthening coordination and responsible communication between city offices and barangays, on December 10 for Public Information Associates (PIAs) and December 11 for Barangay Information Coordinators (BICs) at the Colegio de San Antonio de Padua (CSAP).
The training, titled “Inter-office Continuum on Communication Practices and Purpose,” gathered 46 PIAs and 42 BICs, who serve as official information representatives of their respective departments, offices, and barangays.
Sessions focused on communication standards, basic news writing and reporting, and the 5-Point Priority Connectivity Agenda of Mayor Nito Durano, underscoring the importance of accurate, clear, and timely dissemination of public information.
Mayor Nito Durano addressed the participants, emphasizing the role of information workers as key partners in governance and as vital channels in bringing government programs and services closer to the community.
The PIO-led initiative reinforces a unified city–barangay information network and reflects Danao City’s continuing commitment to transparent governance, informed communities, and improved public service delivery.
Since its establishment in 2015, Danao City’s network of government communicators has played a key role in strengthening information flow across the city.
