DANAO CITY, Cebu—  The Danao City Government, under the leadership of Mayor Nito Durano and Vice Mayor Ivy Durano, reported significant infrastructure accomplishments during the administration’s first 100 days— totaling over ₱19 million worth of projects across various barangays.

Of the 30 infrastructure projects initiated within his first 100 days in office, 22 have been completed while eight are nearing completion, according to Mayor Durano’s report delivered during his privilege speech at the 16th Regular Session of the 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod, October 28, held off-site in Barangay Lawaan, around 20 kilometers from the city proper.

Over the past weeks, the City Government formally inaugurated some of these infrastructure projects, including the Road Concreting in Barangay Bayabas, Baliang and Binaliw and Box Culverts at Barangay Sta. Rosa, Ibo and Baliang.

At the same time, groundbreaking ceremonies were also held for the Mt. Manghilao Viewing Deck and Camp Site in Barangay Masaba; Libon, Guinsay and Guinacot Road Concreting;  and the Proposed Skills Development and Training Center— all designed to ensure safety, promote tourism, and open doors for livelihood, learning opportunities, and sustainability.

Mayor Durano emphasized that these undertakings are aligned with his administration’s 5-Connectivity Agenda, aimed at promoting safe, secure, and sustainable infrastructure— the backbone of a safe, secure, and sustainable future for all Danawanons.

The ongoing rollout of infrastructure projects under Mayor Nito’s leadership covers not only road and drainage improvement but also public facilities that support livelihood, tourism, economy and disaster mitigation— all aligned with the city’s development thrusts.

“These projects were implemented directly by the City Government through its engineering and planning offices, funded under the city’s 20% Economic Development Fund, City Engineering and Special Education Fund Capital Outlay,  …. ” Durano said.

“We want to ensure that every peso goes to projects that are in good standards, will truly uplift communities and improve daily living.”

The Mayor also affirmed that the City Government will continue to advance its infrastructure priorities, with ongoing and upcoming projects centered on accessibility, education, disaster preparedness, and inclusive development. He likewise continues to personally visit barangays— especially those where most of the concerns and repair requests originate—  to ensure that projects directly address community needs.

And as these projects continue toward completion and many more to follow, the Durano Administration assures that each initiative, anchored by consistent feedback and data-driven planning, will remain guided by transparency, accountability and the vision of delivering programs and infrastructure that genuinely improve the lives of every Danawanon.
