The City Government of Danao, through the Sangguniang Panlungsod Office, conducted two major public hearings on August 11–12, 2025, tackling key measures on environmental protection and fiscal sustainability.
On August 11, stakeholders convened for the deliberation of Draft Ordinance No. 037-2025, “An Ordinance Implementing the Special Forest Land Use Agreement (FLAG) System in Danao City, Cebu, Establishing Local Guidelines for Forest Land Management, and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof.” The session provided a platform for city officials, agencies, and community representatives to discuss ways to balance forest conservation with responsible land use, ensuring local policies remain aligned with national directives.
Meanwhile, a two-day hearing on August 11–12 addressed the Proposed Schedule of Market Value of all Real Properties within Danao City. The discussions focused on updating property assessments to reflect fair and realistic values while supporting the city’s revenue generation efforts. Property owners, barangay leaders, and stakeholders actively shared their insights on tax implications, transparency, and equitable valuation.
Both hearings underscored Danao City’s commitment to inclusive governance—engaging citizens in policy deliberations while upholding its priorities of protecting natural resources and strengthening fiscal capacity to sustain programs and services for the community.
